Regular curtains will heat up under the sun rays and then transmit heat inside the room via convection.  so your air conditioner has to work hard to dissipate that additional heat. The special feature of this heat reflective acoustic blanket is that it has a reflective layer that reflects sunlight (UV and Infrared) right back outside.  So the curtain itself does not heat up and therefore it will save electricity and save you money on cooling cost. The sun reflective side must face the glass (the sun) and the sound absorption side will face the interior of the room. The acoustic layer will considerably improve the acoustics in your room and remove echo and make speech more intelligible and clear.
