Material varies from the psychedelic 1967 hit Kites, via soul-based material by such as Homer Banks and Jackie Edwards through to grungier cover versions of Mouse & The Traps and Spirit. The band split in 1969: the following year the Shulman brothers reconvened as prog-rock pioneers Gentle Giant. Comes with full credits and extensive sleeve notes. “This label hasn’t disappointed me yet. The band were a bit patchy on record across their career imho but this is a great selection and includes songs I don’t think they put out. Pressing and sound quality are great.
