Description A lemon-powered clock works by using the process of electrolysis. This is where metal ions are able to flow from one type of metal to another through an acid electrolyte in a complete circuit. In this case, the lemon juice is the electrolyte and the copper & zinc strips are the electrodes. Once connected, the electricity flows from the zinc to the copper and around through the LCD watch.
