Description WOWSA Ratification Process Process After Purchase Initial Contact and Planning: After your purchase, you will receive a link to fill in the pre-swim planning form Complete the form with details about your route and the parameters of the swim WOWSA team will flag any questions or concerns Documentation and Preparation: Once submitted, your listed observer will receive instructions to review the observer responsibilities and sign Observer Acknowledgment Form Post-Swim: The observer will be sent the link to fill in the Observer Report to collect all documentation (logs, GPS, photo and video evidence) The swimmer will be sent a link to fill in the swimmer report . Timeline: Ratifications typically take one to two weeks if all documentation is in order. If there are issues, it may take a month or longer. Fees and Refunds: The service fee is $100 for solo swims and $150 for relays. If your swim does not proceed, the service fee will be refunded. Legal Information and Provisions for Swim Ratification Public Disclosure of Documents By submitting your application for ratification, you acknowledge that all documents, including GPS data (GPX files), observer logs, photos, videos, and any other related materials will be made public and accessible for review. Declaration of Accuracy All information submitted for ratification, including photos, videos, documents, and GPX files, must be accurate to the best of the applicant’s knowledge. By submitting this application, you declare that the data provided is true and complete. Liability Waiver The World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA) and its affiliates shall not be held liable for any discrepancies or inaccuracies in the data submitted by applicants. Swimmers accept full responsibility for the accuracy of the information they provide, including any files submitted. Verification Process WOWSA reserves the right to verify any data submitted for ratification, including reviewing submitted photos, videos, and GPX files. Failure to provide accurate information may result in the rejection of the application and further sanctions as deemed necessary. Consequences of Fraudulent Submission Any swimmer found to have submitted false or misleading information, including photos, videos, documents, or GPX files, may face disciplinary action, including but not limited to a ban from future ratifications. Acknowledgment of Terms By submitting this application, you acknowledge that you have read and understood all terms, including liability waivers and public disclosure of documents, photos, videos, and GPX files.
